Farmers grip Greece/ 30 major points expected to be blocked

The farmers are on the 6th day of the protest and are continuing to escalate it. The farmers are continuing their planning without hindrance and new blocks are being erected every day. Today, new blocks are being erected at the green traffic lights near the Macedonia Airport, while another block will be formed in Fthiotida.

Tractors will be out in Bralos and at the weekend in Siatista. A large block will form in Kastro Viotias, but on Sunday a similar movement is expected from farmers in North Evros.

Their goal is to have at least 30 large blocks in Greece at multiple points on the national grid by the end of the week. This concludes the first phase of their mobilization.

Starting next Monday, we will see various actions by farmers. Actions in cities, such as port blockades, tractor marches, and others that have not yet been announced.

Next week is perhaps a good opportunity for the farmers' first contact with the government, before the crucial meeting. It will be an effort by both sides to reveal their intentions, so that the meeting is not procedural in nature.

It is considered almost certain that at the end of next week, a meeting of the national lockdown committee will be held in Nikaia, Larisa, which will consider any form of escalation before a meeting with the government.

At the same time, farmers, responding to the closed roads, meaningfully note that the national highway could open as early as tomorrow. The government holds the key to the decisions it will make for the future of the primary sector.
