With increased blockades on main roads and customs across the country, farmers continue their mobilizations, while all eyes are on the Panhellenic Committee meeting next week, to ensure coordination.

Mobilizations are intensifying, with blockades in many regions, such as Thessaly, Central Greece and Achaia, while more dynamic actions are on the table, on the part of the farmers, such as blocking ports and customs. However, they demand immediate solutions and declare that they do not want a dialogue without results.

The government, for its part, has made it clear that the state will deal strictly with delinquent behavior, but emphasizes that it is willing to engage in dialogue.

"However, dialogue cannot take place under any circumstances when serious incidents occur, such as those we saw outside the "Macedonia" airport in Thessaloniki or the attacks against Greek police forces, which resulted in the injury of a police officer. The state will show no tolerance for delinquent behavior. The law will be enforced, without an asterisk," said government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis.

Mikrothevon intersection at PATHE was closed

Mobilizations also took place in PATHE, where on Saturday morning farmers and herders from Almyros and Veletsinos closed the Mikrothevon intersection.

The road is closed in both directions, while farmers have lined up their tractors.

On Friday afternoon, incidents occurred at the green traffic light in Thessaloniki. Farmers from East Thessaloniki and Halkidiki tried to break through the police barricade and head to the airport intersection, while they tried to get past the police blockade to head towards Macedonia Airport.

A tractor reversed rapidly and moved towards the police, while some were heard asking the driver to step on a policeman. Then some farmers who had already climbed over the bars and were inside the Agricultural School tried to get out into the street and block the road, knocking down a policeman.

Thermi's runway was blocked

Farmers also blocked traffic at the Thermi overpass. Tractors allowed movement only for vulnerable groups, such as ambulances, however the blockade did not last long and the farmers released traffic after about an hour.

Farmers in Serres blocked the Egnatia highway at the height of Kerdylli. On the Egnatia highway, roadblocks have also been set up at the height of Komotini and at the Kouloura intersection.

New protests in Thessaly

The Athens-Thessaloniki National Road remains closed at the Nikaia intersection in Larisa. At the same time, farmers from Boeotia have taken their tractors to the PATHE highway near Thebes.

In Thessaly, over 4,000 tractors are at the Nikaia junction, as well as on the E65 highway near Kardita and at the Longos toll booth in Trikala. The blockade will meet on Sunday to decide on its next steps.

Escalation from Monday

An escalation of mobilizations is expected on Monday, without excluding the symbolic closure of bypass roads. At the same time, in a pan-Thessalian meeting, it was decided to block customs offices and a large mobilization to block the port of Volos, within the week. During the weekend, there are expected to be blockades in Central Greece, in Bralos and in Kastro.

Tomorrow, new tractors are expected at the Kardita blockade, on the E65, which is also the largest blockade. A few kilometers further down, Trikala farmers have set up a blockade on the Longos toll road.

Three blocks in Akai

Three blockades have also been set up in the prefecture of Achaia. One blockade is in Kato Achaina, where farmers have closed the Patras-Pyrgos highway and the old Patras-Pyrgos national road. Another blockade with over 100 tractors has been set up in Itea, while farmers in Aegialia took to the streets today at the Selinountas bridge.

Tomorrow, farmers in Aitoloakarnania will also join the movement with a blockade at the Angelokastro junction on the Ionian Highway, and farmers in Vonitsa, towards the Aktion toll road.

Farmers block customs

Farmers have also blocked the Kipi, Exochi, Promachona, Evzoni, Niki customs offices, as well as the Kalpaki junction leading to the Kakkavia Customs Office. Only the passage of trucks is prohibited for a few hours or indefinitely depending on the decisions of the farmers in each location.

Normally, from 6:00 PM on Friday, the circulation of all vehicles at the Promachona border station takes place after the farmers, as they had announced yesterday at 12 noon that they were closing the border only to trucks, opened both traffic flows.

The farmers allowed passage to the Promachona customs office from 4 to 6 p.m. They then continued with a blockade until 10 p.m. Until the same time, it has been announced that the Evzoni customs office will also remain closed.

For the fifth consecutive day, farmers in Evros have maintained their blockade at the Kipon Customs. The mobilization, in which over 200 tractors and agricultural machinery are participating, began last Tuesday afternoon, December 2nd.

The passage of private cars and buses is carried out normally through one lane, both at the entrance and exit of the country. Trucks transporting perishable products are also allowed to pass normally. However, approximately 500 trucks remain stationary on the Greek side, on the old National Road Alexandroupolis - Ormeni at the height of the settlement of Ardanio and on the vertical axis of the Egnatia Motorway, just before the settlement of Provatona.

Protests also took place in Lesbos, with farmers pouring milk into the streets yesterday./ CNA
