Erdogan and Putin meet in Turkmenistan/ Turkish president calls for partial

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, today as part of the "International Forum for Peace and Security".

The forum is being held to mark the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality and is attended by leaders of various states, including Turkey, Russia and Iranian President Masoud Peskov.

The meeting between Putin and Erdogan, which lasted about an hour and a half, was attended by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, the head of the Turkish intelligence agency MIT, Ibrahim Kalin, the head of the Presidential Communications Directorate, Burhanuddin Duran, the Presidential Advisor for Foreign Policy and Security, Akif Cagatay Kilic, and the deputy chairman of the ruling AKP party, Halit Yerebakan.

The presidents of Turkey and Russia praised the good level of relations between their countries, exchanged views on frozen Ukrainian and Russian assets, referred to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant project, while Erdogan invited Putin to visit Turkey. As reported by the Turkish presidency, Erdogan told Putin that the implementation of a limited ceasefire for energy facilities and ports could be beneficial. /CNA
