Homes turned into ruins/ Consequences of the Iranian attack on Israel

The destruction in a city in Israel was extensive after it was attacked by Iran in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A barrage of Iranian missiles hit Bat Yam at around 2:30 a.m. local time.

The Iranian attacks appear to have hit an apartment block, where children's toys are seen in the rubble of the building.

Speaking live to CNN, Dean Elsdunne, an international spokesman for the Israel Police, said extensive rescue efforts were still underway, with fears that people were trapped under the rubble.

"This is the result of another barrage of rockets targeting our civilian populations," Elsdunne said.


The police spokesman declined to give an exact figure for the number of victims in the city, but said that "dozens" had been injured and that this number was rising as police work to find more individuals.

Elsdunne added that the "civil discipline" instilled in Israelis was helping to save many lives, with authorities asking the public to follow numerous guidelines for their safety.
