The 27-year-old son of the Crown Princess of Norway was arrested this Tuesday, after being accused of sexual abuse.

The news was confirmed by the Norwegian police on Tuesday, " CNN " reports.

Marius Borg Høiby was born before his mother Mette-Marit married Crown Prince Haakon and became a princess in 2001.

Marius Borg Høiby was arrested for violating the criminal code that deals with "violent sexual relations."

The alleged victim is a woman in her 20s who did not know Høiby before meeting him on the day of the abuse, according to her lawyer Hege Salomon. She was not in a relationship with the son of the Crown Princess.

Høiby was arrested on Monday evening, and is being held in a detention centre. His lawyer, Øyvind Bratlien, told Norwegian public broadcaster NRK that he denies the charge.

Also, he has been accused of various crimes against five different people, four women and one man.

Three of the women have been in a relationship with Høibyn and have raised allegations that they were sexually abused by him.
