The accident in Novi Sad/ The Serbian opposition protests against the government

The Serbian opposition will protest this afternoon in Novi Sad after a deadly accident at a local railway station, which they blame on government incompetence and corruption.

Earlier there were violent protests against the government for this case.

Tragedy struck last week when the roof over the station's entrance suddenly collapsed, killing 14 people and seriously injuring three others.

Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd after protesters broke windows at the entrance to the town hall.

Protesters carried placards reading "You have bloody hands" and "You will answer for this", and chanted "Thieves" and "Arrest (President Aleksandar) Vucic".

Police also surrounded other state and municipal offices in the city center.
