The Foreign Ministry of Moldova has condemned Russia's aggressive actions, after two drones entered Moldovan airspace and crashed on its territory on November 10.

One of the drones was found by the police in Boroseni Noi, a village in the north of Moldova, about 45 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, while the other in the southern village of Firladeni, 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Both were "rogue" drones used to disorient Ukrainian air defenses.

"We strongly condemn these aggressive incursions and again condemn Russia's brutal war against Ukraine," the ministry said in a statement.

Since the start of Russia's war in Ukraine in February 2022, Moldova has recorded 15 incidents of Russian drones crossing Moldovan airspace.

The pro-Western president of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has won a new mandate in the presidential elections, held days ago, as the country was at a crossroads, between her and Alexandr Stoianoglos, a candidate close to Moscow.

She constantly calls for the country's membership in the European Union and is very much against the war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin calls the war a "special military operation" to demilitarize Ukraine.

The West has responded to Russia, hitting the economy of this country with harsh sanctions.

As a result of the war, thousands of people have died and millions more have been displaced from their homes./REL
