Donald Trump also takes Arizona, wins 7 decisive states

Republican Donald Trump also won in the state of Arizona, according to American media forecasts, marking victories in all seven decisive states in the November 5 presidential election.

After counting votes for four days in a row in the southwestern state with a large Hispanic population, CNN and NBC networks predict that Mr. Trump won and received 11 electoral votes, defeating Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. In the 2020 election, President Joe Biden scored a narrow but important victory in Arizona

Republicans have secured a majority in the Senate and appear to be closing in on control of the House of Representatives. According to CNN, Republicans have secured 213 of the 218 seats they need to take control of the House of Representatives. The Associated Press news agency reports that so far the Democrats have secured 202 seats.

President-elect Trump also scored victories in 6 other key states for the presidential race, in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia.

The White House announced that President Joe Biden will meet with the President-elect at the White House on Wednesday. Their meeting is scheduled to take place at 11 o'clock.

Such a meeting is common between the outgoing president and the incoming president and is intended in part to mark the beginning of a peaceful transfer of power in American democracy.

Republican Trump did not welcome Democrat Biden after winning the 2020 presidential election.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the president-elect ruled out the possibility of his new administration including two well-known figures from his first term, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Halley.

Former US ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, heads the list of candidates to lead US foreign policy in the new administration, according to media reports. Another favorite candidate seems to be Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who in 2016 described Mr. Trump as "the most vulgar person who has intended to become President "./ VOA
