Abdixhiku: Rejecting the call for a Unity Government is a political caricature

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has reacted after the rejection of the LDK's proposal for the creation of a Unity Government, an inclusive transitional government that will emerge from the current political crisis in the country.

In a Facebook post, Abdixhiku said that the call made last night for a joint exit from the crisis was rejected this morning without any debate or counter-opinion, but with an immediate rejection, in some cases even with insults.

"The current situation is a political caricature. In the absence of an agreement, there is no majority. In the absence of a majority, there is no solution. In the absence of a solution, a political agreement is needed. So, let's go back to the beginning," Abdixhiku writes.


Abdixhiku emphasized that the proposal for the Unity Government was not for the LDK or for personal interest, but due to the blockade in state institutions, the lack of a functional Assembly, a legitimate government, and the lack of a sincere process that would lead to a solution.

He announced that the LDK will continue to publicly present the 15-point Agenda, a document that aims to give direction and clarity to the unity and crisis management process until the new parliamentary elections.

"They can refuse everything, again. But as LDK, we will try to offer and find solutions! Because it is better to be alone in the effort for a solution, than part of a meaningless blockade," Abdixhiku concluded.
