The Municipality of Tirana has demolished a building without notifying the National Housing Authority, which is also the legitimate owner of the former Communal School Dormitory.

The incident was recorded by the National Housing Authority, especially by the leader Stefan Çipa who, through a letter that the National Housing Authority is publishing in full, argues that the act of the Municipality of Tirana is illegal and has interfered with the powers of the Authority.

"The municipality of Tirana, arguing that this building was a danger to the citizens, has carried out
the procedures by demolishing the building, without first notifying the National Housing Authority, even though the latter is the legitimate owner of the former Communal School Dormitory (currently demolished). Citizens who were treated with a rent bonus, even though they did not have a contract with EKB, have applied to the system of benefiting from the reconstruction programs, a procedure which the Municipality of Tirana has now suspended as a result of not having a privatization contract. For this reason, taking into account the fact that these citizens belong to the Roma and Egyptian community, the Municipality of Tirana has asked the National Housing Authority to conclude contracts with these citizens, at a time when the building was demolished and the facility no longer existed.

The head of the Housing Authority requests the issue of housing for the 50 families left without a home from the Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. Stefan Cipa, as the general director of the Entity, seems dissatisfied with the action of the Municipality of Tirana for the demolition of the Dormitory.
