Many foreigners have chosen Albania as a destination for dental tourism. But not everyone is satisfied. Italian citizen Maria Rosario Lanziello says that she came from Italy to get dental implants at the "Tirana Dental Hospital".

But after three years, she says, she still has concerns. Maria has paid 7,500 euros and has returned to Tirana several times to rework her teeth, but she still has concerns, as she says, something was not done right from the beginning with the lower arch of the mouth.

Maria Rosario Lanzielli, the complainant: I paid 7,500 euros and they told me that I had to make a prepayment for both phases of the work. I paid them and then came. I came and the first stage went well, they welcomed me very well, although in December when I was in Romania I had a piece of the implant fall out. I came back and they fitted me and in March I had the final implants. In March, I made the final decisions and I brought a friend of mine to this clinic in June, where I expressed concern about the lower part of my teeth and the doctor told me that I should get used to them. I had my final implants placed in March 2022 and since then I have been going back every 3 months for the same problem. It's a piece of something on the bottom of the teeth. The lower arch is not well done. I told them about this concern and the doctor said "oh yes, there is a possibility" and suggested that we try the porcelain material. They tried putting porcelain over zirconia and it didn't work. In January, my teeth were tightened and I was in pain. I went back again and met with Dr. Lauren and told him it was a mistake to start labor because I had two years of pain. He replied that if I tell him again that he was wrong, I will get up and leave. I still have something in the lower arch of my teeth that bothers me and they file it away stripping the zirconium and leaving a harsh taste in my mouth.

In addition to dental services, the lady has also had plastic surgery and blephoropastic surgery for drooping eyelids. Although this intervention is done in hospital conditions, for her, everything happened in the dentist's chair in December 2022. The Italian paid 1,400 euros, but says that they left a piece in her eye lid without removing it.

Maria Rosario Lanzielli, the whistleblower: I had blepharoplasty, plastic surgery on the eyelids, in a dental clinic chair. An impossible thing because to do blepharoplasty you can get an infection, you need a special room. This happened in December 2022 and they left a piece without removing my eyelid. Yes, in this dental clinic, I also had my eyebrow pulled, and this is something that they should not do. I paid 1400 euros. I did them at "Tirana Dental Hospital" and the doctor who performed the intervention was always Lauren Muhametaj.

As if all this was not enough, Maria has faced another surprise. In Italy, she became familiar with a brochure of the clinic in question, which advertised services with her face even for interventions, which she had not done. When she asked the clinic to account, her portrait was removed from social networks and advertisements.

Maria Rosario Lanzielli, whistleblower: When I was there, they showed me this brochure. At first I was surprised when I saw my picture there. When I returned to Italy, a friend of mine told me that Maria, have you given them authorization. Then I called them and told them, start the authorization that I gave them for this brochure and after 5 minutes they deleted everything from social networks. The brochures with my image had come all the way to Italy and not only to some of their partner centers in Tirana, starting from "Tirana Dental Hospital" to an aesthetic clinic and even to the hairdressing salon where I have been and they were in Italian. In this brochure, they have added services that I have not done, such as lip filling, lip filler. They also intervened in my image by making me ugly in the brochure that showed the results of the intervention./ tvklan
