"Stop" is located in unit number 10, on Kavaja street, as Mrs. Anxhelina Vezuli says, that she has a private residence since 1960, next to which a 7-story building without an elevator was built in 1997. But since a week, in the building next to her, the construction of an elevator from the outside has started, completely narrowing the space in front of the apartment.

"My name is Anxhelina Vezuli. I have lived here since 1960 with a property certificate. We have called you to help us because an elevator is being built against the gate and I don't understand how this can happen. The house was built in 1960, while the building was built in 1997, without an elevator," said the whistleblower.

The permit for the elevator was approved by the director of the municipality of Tirana, Anisa Lila, but the conditions for the application of the permit have not been verified. Anxhelina says that she went to the IMT and after the verification, she learned that the elevator permit was abused because the project presented to the municipality contains an elevator inside the premises of the building.

"We were interested in IMT, we made a request. In the implementation project it was found to be a violation because the elevator was supposed to be built inside the building and not outside the building. IMT confirmed that this lift is illegal. I may die tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, neither the coffin nor the funeral will be held. Our house is old and we want to renovate it, we will put in the sandbox. Where do I put the sand cart, where do I put the bricks or something that I'm going to fix at home?! Or I will sell the house, who bought me the house where I have these conditions where he has nowhere to put a cart with sand or a car with sand. I also understand for the residents, I'm sorry that they want an elevator, but when they bought the house, they took into account that the building was without an elevator, if they want, let them do it inside the building. We ask the show "Stop" to help us", added the whistleblower.

After the lady, the journalist from "Stop" goes to IMT and the director said that the owner of the elevator was fined and given time to destroy the structure of the elevator within 10 days. Otherwise, the elevator will be broken by the IMT.

"Ms. Anxhelina Vezuli came to our institution, who filed a request-complaint, where she claims that an elevator is being built next to an existing building, which has violated the technical conditions, has made the movement of citizens impossible. From the verification of the inspectors, we found that the subject did not implement the approved project according to the preliminary statement. So the project has provided for the construction of the elevator inside the stairwell, that is, inside the building surface. Under these conditions, our inspectors have kept the finding reserve number 5552, which forces the issuance of a decision with a fine and the decision to demolish this construction because practically this construction, as long as it is not according to the approved project, is in violation. So it is an illegal construction. We have found in other cases that there were elevators that were placed on the facades, but without violating the urban planning conditions or without infringing on anyone's property, and in this case, therefore, it was placed inside the stairwell because there were problems with the urban planning condition. The subject has been notified by us to do voluntary dismantling by the 10-day deadline from issuing the fine and demolition decision. If measures have not been taken to dismantle it voluntarily and return the territory to its previous state, we as IMT will take the decision to demolish this illegal structure," explained Klajdi Meçi, director of the Territory Control./ tvklan
