Fires in the country/ Two Romanian planes arrive in Albania to intervene in the

Two planes of the Armed Forces of Romania arrived in Albania today, joining the efforts of the Albanian forces to isolate and extinguish fires in some problematic areas of the country. The two planes come to our country, as support of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, of which Albania is also a part.

The Romanian crews will be deployed for almost 10 days at the Kuçova Air Base, where they will be coordinated by the National Agency of Civil Protection to engage from today, in the fire pits, where the situation is most critical.

Present at the reception of two planes from Romania with their crews, Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu thanked the Romanian authorities for the help in these difficult moments.

The two military aircraft are one model C-27J (Spartan), which will engage in firefighting operations and the other C-130 (Hercules), which provides logistical support to the C-27J, while the capacity is 6 tons of water per every flight./ CNA
