"The rich have believed that they are untouchable"/ Yuri Kim

The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, reacted after the statements of the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, to the head of SPAK, Arben Kraja.

In her reaction, Kim underlines that threats and incitements against judges and prosecutors should not be accepted as normal.  

Among other things, Kim writes that for a long time the rich or powerful have believed that they are untouchable and are now worried that their impunity may be coming to an end.

' Threats and incitements to prosecutors and judges - and other attempts to disrupt justice reform should no longer be accepted as "normal". This behavior does not belong to a country that is in NATO, has opened negotiations for EU membership and is sitting on the UN Security Council.

For a long time, the rich and/or powerful have believed themselves to be untouchable. Now they are worried their impunity may be coming to an end. As the justice reform is implemented and gives more and more results, it will become clearer and clearer that nobody - NOBODY - is above the law  ' - writes Yuri Kim./ CNA.al
