Sula: The government forgets the farmers that they take the money to the

Democratic MP Dashnor Sula has stated that the government has neglected the farmers in villages such as Gjocaj, Sheze, Vashaj, Rrumbullak, Celhake, Selime, Bardhas, Asmashaj, Kurtaj, Sallbegaj and Blinas, villages which are noted for the cultivation and high quality of peaches and nectarines.

Through a post on social networks, despite his request to the Minister of Agriculture, Frida Krifca, to subsidize farmers in these areas, as according to him the plantations were damaged by the unusual hail and 70-80% of their production went to waste, the government is shown indifferent.

Among other things, the deputy states that the reason why farmers are not helped by the government is that the money goes to incinerators.

"The government has put its hands deep into the farmers' pockets.

On social networks, I saw today that the Minister of Agriculture was amazed by the peach plantations in the village of Gjocaj in Peqin. To be amazed is actually. But not for any merit of the government, but thanks to the work of ordinary people in Gjocaj, Sheze, Vashaj, Rrumbullak, Celhake, Selime, Bardhas, Asmashaj, Kurtaj, Sallbegaj and Blinas, the area has gained a good name for the quality of peaches and nectarines. I emphasize, this is because of their work, since they have been totally forgotten by the government.

On June 6, in the Parliament Hall, I asked the Minister of Agriculture to help the farmers in these villages after the plantations that amazed Mrs. Ministers were damaged by the unusual hail and 70-80% of their production went to waste.

My call, but also that of the farmers themselves, fell on the deaf ears of this government.

Farmers are in trouble because there is no money for them. Albanian taxpayers' money is taken by the officials in corrupt ministries and directorates.

For them, the minister who is amazed has no money because it goes to the bosses of the incinerators who almost build greenhouses at the place where the garbage is treated.

310,000 euros were taken from the taxes of European citizens for the construction of a plastic greenhouse at the Tirana incinerator, while there is only one post on Facebook for the honest farmers in Gjocaj.

In fact, the farmers of Gjocaj village have not only not been helped, but the government has put its hand in their pocket.

The removal of fiscal exemptions in the agricultural sector last year led to the state budget about 1, 7 billion (16 mln additional income).

According to data from the Ministry of Finance, ALL 0.9 billion was collected from the elimination of the agricultural producer compensation scheme from 6% to 0%, while ALL 0.8 billion was collected from the return of VAT on agricultural inputs.

Agriculture accounts for 20% of the Gross Domestic Product, but only 35 million euros are given to agriculture for subsidies. As much as 1/3 of Kosovo, many times less than North Macedonia. Kosovo gives 100 million euros in subsidies for 2023, North Macedonia gives about 200 million. While Albania gives a lot of propaganda and only 35 million euros in subsidies.
