The former mayor of Himara has been escorted to the Vlora Police, a day after SPAK requested his return to prison. According to reports, yesterday evening the Vlora police executed the decision to detain him.

The Special Prosecution, after calculating the detention, has concluded that the former mayor still has 6 months and 10 days left in prison to serve.

A few days ago, the Special Court of Appeal upheld the 2-year prison sentence for the former mayor of Himara. The former mayor was accused by SPAK of repeated abuse of office in connection with the alienation of a land plot in Livadh, in the Municipality of Himara.

Due to the summary trial, he served 1 year and 4 months in prison, and was released on August 29 last year. /CNA
