Today's trial session on the merits for the mayor arrested on 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, Erion Veliaj, his wife Ajola Xoxa, and 28 other defendants has been postponed. According to reports, the next session will be held on April 3 at 09:00.
A few days ago, it was announced that the defendant and under investigation by the Special Prosecution, Plarent Ndreca, will be the lawyer for the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj. The latter did not appear at today's session and was represented by Ndreca.
Veliaj has been in custody since February 10, 2025 and faces serious charges, including corruption, money laundering, and abuse of office./CNA
