Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha has reacted on social media to the 17th anniversary of Albania's membership in NATO.

Hoxha states that since the moment of membership, Albania has proven to be a dedicated and reliable Ally, contributing to the Alliance's missions and operations.

Among other things, the minister states that Albania will prepare to host the next NATO Summit for the first time in our region.

Like today, 17 years ago, Albania took a decisive step towards its future by becoming a full member of NATO - a historic moment that firmly anchored our Euro-Atlantic journey and consolidated the foundations of national security.

Since that defining moment, Albania has proven to be a committed and reliable Ally, actively contributing to NATO missions and operations, as well as promoting stability in the Western Balkans, including continued support for Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Today, Albania is fully aligned with NATO's evolving priorities: from fair sharing of responsibility and increased investment in defense, to strengthening resilience, embracing innovation, and advancing new technologies in a rapidly changing security environment.

Looking to the future, Albania is honored to prepare to host the next NATO Summit for the first time in our region. This is not just an activity; it is a clear expression of confidence in Albania's role, credibility and contribution within the Alliance.
