CNA has been denouncing for years the affair with the three incinerators, that of Tirana, Elbasan and Fier, which has been called the affair of the century.

Being one of the hottest and most corrupt issues, described as the affair of the century, CNA has created a survey, asking citizens how they evaluate the issue of incinerators.

The affair of the incinerators is devouring hundreds of millions of euros from the taxes of poor Albanians, for incinerators that do not work or do not exist, we mention here the landfill of Tirana, for which CNA has discovered documents, where the profits of the companies are shown.

Tirana's incinerator company, "Integrated Energy BV SPV", has been able to earn approximately 20 million dollars in at least 5 years from the concession of the administration of Tirana's landfill.

For the affair of the century, SPAK has announced the search for Stela Gugallen, Klodian Zoton, Mirel Mërtiri, who is also known as the mastermind of the incinerators, where according to a document published by CNA, Mirel Mërtiri receives a salary through a third company in the Netherlands for the account of "Geogenix", the mother of the Tirana incinerator.

The payment is 5 thousand euros per month. It is "Geogenix" that we showed with documents that guaranteed Mirel Mërtir residence in the Netherlands, while this was a person declared wanted by SPAK and wanted by the Albanian police.

Also wanted by SPAK is Giuseppe Ciaffaglione, who is one of the main names of the incinerator affair in Tirana, one of its keys as it can open "Pandora's Box". He is in Italy, where he escaped after SPAK declared him wanted. He is a shareholder of the company "Geogenix", which is the mother of "Integrated Energy BV SPV", of the Tirana incinerator, a company that is under investigation by SPAK, for the Tirana incinerator.

All are on the run and evading justice.

Documents have been published on how the incinerator of Elbasan is connected to that of Fier with Klodian Zoto, Stela Gugalle, Mirel Mërtir and Tirana where the poor Albanian taxpayers pay 29 euros/ton and while almost 6 years after the signing of the concession contract in Tirana it still does not exist the incinerator.

The affair of the century has been denounced for years by CNA, TPZ, BIRN and other media.

For the centuries-old affair, a minister and a secretary general have fallen in handcuffs and many other officials.

The people of the incinerators have benefited from concession contracts of about 480 million euros from the Albanian government.

CNA follows the investigations for the incinerator companies, where the names of Stela Gugalles, Mirel Mërtir and Klodian Zotos are circulating in all the connections.

This affair has also consumed the media in Albania.

The incinerator companies and its people still continue to take money from the poor Albanian tax payers for an incinerator like the one in Elbasan which has a colossal cost and has remained in repair, like the one in Fier which has not yet been put into operation and recently the incinerator of Tirana that does not exist./ CNA.al
