Rainfall situation in the last 24 hours/ Protection: Problems from high river

The Ministry of Defense has published information regarding the rainfall situation in the country's regions in the last 24 hours.

In the updated information, the situation appears to be stabilizing, but problems with river flows continue.

There are also problems with landslides.

Over the past 24 hours, the situation has generally stabilized, although in some regions the accumulated problems of high river flows, landslides and damage to infrastructure continue. The levels of most rivers are decreasing, while the dams in the most affected areas are working at full capacity. Emergency forces, the Armed Forces, local structures and rapid intervention teams remain on the ground to normalize the situation and keep the risk areas under control.

 

SITUATION BY DISTRICT

 

VLORA DISTRICT

The Vlora municipality's hydroelectric plants are operating at full capacity.

The level of the Vjosa River in Novoselo continues to trend downward.

Yesterday, forces from the Support Command Unit also came to help with the situation.

Municipality of Saranda

The situation is being monitored in the village of Çukë, on the embankment of the Bistrica River. Yesterday, 10 members of the Armed Forces operated in this area, with vehicles, to assist the residents of the area.

Operational forces worked to normalize the situation on the roads connecting several villages in the municipalities of Finiq, Konispol and Delvinë, where there was a presence of landslides.

 

FIER COUNTY

Emergency teams are assisting residents in the villages of Çerven and Ferras, where there are 25 homes with water, within the embankment of the Vjosa River.

Today, the Seman River has retreated to safe levels, with a drop of 70 cm.

 

KORÇA DISTRICT

The situation in the affected administrative units; Bulgarec, Vithkuq, Drenova, Mollaj has calmed down. The water has been withdrawn, work is continuing for full normalization.

Work is continuing to close the cracks in the embankments of the Devoll River and the Dunavec River. 20 forces from the Armed Forces have also come to help. The Devoll River has lowered its level by several centimeters. The village of Sheqeras is not at risk of flooding homes, but there is water on agricultural areas. Attention is focused on the infrastructure of the villages of Moçan, Desmire, Osoje and Gjinikas. Work is also being done in the villages of Senisht and Dolanm, where there have been landslides.

In Pustev, the situation appears calm, while firefighters are intervening to remove water from the basements of 4 apartments that have water present.

Interventions are also being carried out in the municipality of Pogradec, where around 50 cases of damage to homes and 4 bridges have been identified.

Problems have been identified in the City Ring Road and Hudenishte, where work is underway to neutralize the situation. Work is also continuing by teams in Kolonjë, in the village of Qinam, and in the villages of Mesickë and Taç Poshte.

 

LEZHA DISTRICT

In the municipality of Lezha, an area of ??about 220 ha continues to be under water.

The hydroelectric plants are working at full capacity.

At the embankment in Vain Lagoon, work continues to repair the damaged dam.

The levels of the Drin and Mat rivers have increased but are within normal limits.

In the Kurbin municipality, works are continuing on the Drojë riverbed, also with support from the Armed Forces. 

In Mamurras there is an area of ??about 300 ha under water.

In the Mirditë municipality, the problematic road axis Rrëshen - Bukmirë remains where the subsidence of the road base continues to cause problems for traffic, although its rehabilitation has been intervened. Work is being carried out on several road segments and near several houses where there have been landslides.

 

DIBAR DISTRICT

Work is continuing to stabilize the situation on the Old Town-New Town road axis, at the terminal.

 

BERAT DISTRICT

In the municipality of Berat, the levels of the Osum River have marked a significant decline. The river is within its bed and the waters in the agricultural lands in the villages of the Velabisht administrative unit have largely receded.

Meanwhile, in the Dimal municipality, the situation is improving.

 

GJIROKASTAR DISTRICT

Work is being done by teams on the ground in the Dropull municipality, where the bridge that connects the National Road Axis with the villages of Glinë, Peshkëpi e Poshtme, Peshkëpi e Sipërme, Radat of the Dropull municipality and the village of Nepravishtë of the Libohëvo municipality, has subsided as a result of rainfall.

It has been possible to stabilize the situation in the village of Dhëmbklan, where a bridge collapsed yesterday.

In the municipality of Libohova, at the place called "Swallow Rock", work is underway to repair the landslide on the roadbed. Work is also underway on the Suhë-Poliçan road axis.

 

TIRANA DISTRICT

Work was carried out in the village of Sharga, in Vora, to remove water from a house.

 

KUKA DISTRICT

Operational forces are working to normalize the situation in the municipality of Kukës, where 2 cases of landslides were identified in the villages of Gjegjan and Morinë.

      

In the regions of Durrës, Shkodër and Elbasan, there are no problems due to weather conditions.

 

The Ministry of Defense and the National Civil Protection Agency are in constant monitoring and contact with civil protection structures and emergency teams to assist communities in the affected areas.
