9th Sunday of Luke/ Message of His Beatitude John: Wealth is not private

The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania led the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ on the 9th Sunday of Luke. During the sermon, His Beatitude gave a series of strong messages.

The Archbishop said that people's lives will always have concerns if they do not think about eternity.

Further, His Beatitude said that wealth often brings great concern to the rich or arouses envy and hatred in the poor.

The Archbishop stated that wealth is not private property but a gift from God. Everything that God gives us, the Archbishop said, is not ours, we are its guardians.

 

" If we do not think about eternity, our lives will always have worries. We can understand the poor who may not have bread and may say how will I get them to find something to eat. The same worry comes from those who are rich. They have great worry about what they will do with their wealth. Often this worry creates great anxiety.

Wealth also arouses envy in others. The holy bishop, Saint Nicholas, says these words: He who accumulates great wealth and does not share it with others, he worries himself and will lose himself. not only himself, but also those around him. Many people who are poor will look at him with envy, they will curse him. Many others who are hungry will again curse and curse him.

They will lose their souls, both the rich and the poor. Wealth in the Christian sense is not private property, wealth is a gift from God. The earth is God's and everything in it.
