Intense rainfall/ Impact also on the Banja and Moglica reservoirs

The intense rainfall of recent days has also affected the flows in the Banja and Moglica reservoirs.

According to a statement from DHP, which operates the Banja and Moglica Hydropower Plants, within the framework of the Devoll Hydropower Project, massive water inflows have affected the Devoll River watershed, where controlled discharges are currently being carried out.

"Since November 18, 2025, Albania and the Western Balkans have been affected by massive rainfall. This has also affected the Devoll River catchment with massive water inflows into the Banja and Moglica reservoirs.

Currently, controlled water discharges are being carried out from the Banja and Moglica reservoirs, within normal operating parameters. The discharges are carried out in accordance with the operating regulations of the Banja and Moglica Dams. The discharges from the Banja and Moglica reservoirs have been many times lower than the inflows into the respective reservoirs.

"DHP is in constant contact with the authorities and is managing the developing situation in coordination with the authorities," the announcement said. /CNA
