The situation in Theth/Shkodra Parish: Institutions and citizens should reflect

The parish priest of Shkodra, Dom Vlash Palaj, in his speech during Sunday's mass, also shared a message regarding the situation in recent days in Theth.

According to Dom Palaj, institutions and citizens need to reflect deeply on how they behave towards each other, especially in small communities, where trust and solidarity are vital.

The speech at Sunday mass:

"A big conflict there in Theth, I feel very sorry for those poor people because they were seduced, lied to, bought, exploited, monetarily exploited, and in the end they threw them away, betrayed them, burned them, destroyed them, they will fine them and imprison them."

Faik Konica says a word that should make us reflect. The greatest evil of Albania is the Albanians. But which Albanians? Those who have not yet learned the words of life.

If you want to solve the problem with your brother, with your neighbor, be part of a nation. Albania is a small village compared to other countries. Christ says: Take your brother ahead, sit down with him, do not condition your dialogue on time. Try to convince him of what is good and true. But it may happen that he does not listen.

Then, please, do not condemn him, do not judge him, or prejudge him, because you are not the Lord of his life. Call 2-3 witnesses, and tell him again in their presence. And if he does not listen to them either, and still does not listen, still do not give up. Invite the whole community. Sit down together. Discuss how this person's problem can be solved. It may happen that he does not listen to them either. Then, when you have made the third attempt, and you have informed everyone, then when you do not understand, let him go - separate him, he says.

Because he does not love good. And, in that reality of that mountain village, what do we notice? It is as if we are enemies of each other. Believe me, dear Christians, and I invite you to think seriously about this. Because our people unfortunately continue to be filled with hostility, with hatred, with a pronounced spiritual poverty, then you do not take into account that you are destroying the life of that other person, even though that other person may have lived and acted in a wrong way. But never claim to be the God of another.

Seek to convince one another and find a solution that is for the good of all. The law is not above everything. The law is above everything when we have violated our humanity and violated that Divine presence that has adorned human life to find a more peaceful and dialogical solution between brothers. We must always know how to understand, because the relationship of brotherhood is not resolved with judgments and punishments. But those who are slaves to life, slaves to its behaviors, do not take into account that the life of the other is being destroyed.

May God allow those cultural, historical, and human conditions to mature and elevate us somewhat in our conscience. Otherwise, we will never have peace. Just as many people have lost their lives, we have many, many bad memories from the past, because they were killed for a piece of land, for a water line, and today they are being killed for a few wooden cabins, which constitute and express a sacrifice of a people who have historically suffered and want to be able to live and see themselves as somehow secure in that dignity of their lives. But there is still a lot of evil and they do not know how to agree on what is good. May God enlighten the minds of everyone and everyone to elevate themselves in that dignity of being human and the expression of humanity, because we are all children of the same Father, who makes them brothers and sisters among us.

Without forgetting that we must welcome immigrants, I wish you peaceful days, full of spiritual blessings, peace and mental freedom, but also physical rest. Because vacations should be integral, meaning all aspects of human life. Unfortunately, I advise you not to go to Theth, because there you lose your mental and spiritual peace, and as a result, you will not find peace physically either. It is not your fault.

"The fault, of course, lies with those who are more inclined to do evil and destroy than to build. Be careful, because those who are most unjust do their best to be violent to impose their justice on others," Dom Palaj said./CNA
