The General Directorate of Taxes announced in a statement that a hotel suspected of evading tax obligations has been identified in Velipoja.

The announcement states that during the audit, it was found that this business did not issue tax invoices and did not make a real declaration of capacities.

 

"Within the framework of the Tourism Operational Plan, the Tax Administration has intensified controls in tourist areas with a focus on indicative wages, as part of the fight against wage informality and tax evasion. In Velipojë, after an in-depth risk analysis, 1 hotel was identified, operating with 2 NIPTs, raising suspicions of artificial division of activity with the aim of avoiding tax obligations.

During the control conducted with body cameras by the Field Task Force and Tax Investigation, serious violations were found such as: Failure to issue tax invoices; Unregistered rooms under VAT liability; Failure to declare actual capacities and turnover. The Tax Administration remains committed to building a fair and transparent climate for business, therefore it invites all taxpayers to respect legal obligations to avoid administrative or criminal consequences arising from the law , "Taxes announce.

 

Tax authorities announced that the hotel had not declared 2.3 million euros in income for the period 2020-2025.

 

" Hotel with 52 rooms, 2 grandchildren of two people with family ties, which raised suspicions of artificial fragmentation to avoid taxes. The subject declared 11-29% of capacity use in a very busy area. It turned out that 20 rooms in each NIPT were not registered. Invoices were not issued and there were undeclared employees. 25 thousand lek fine for not issuing invoices and 50 thousand lek fine for undeclared employees. The subject resulted from the analysis that he had not declared about 2.3 million euros of income during the period 2020-2025. For this reason, the file was referred for further criminal actions with a complaint to the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office ", the DPT announced, among other things, today (July 12).
