Fires in the country/ How the situation looks like for the last 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, 21 fires have been reported, of which 5 are still active.

These fire outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of: Dibër, Vlorë, Rrogozhinë, Tirana, Kamëz, Dimal, Përmet, Këlcyrë, Gjirokastër, Librazhd, Belsh, Lezhë, Kurbin, Roskovec, Pogradec and Korçë.

Currently, the following outbreaks remain active:

Dibër County. In the place called “Livadhi i Peladhisë”, Zerqan administrative unit, Bulqizë municipality. The fire was of low intensity and there was no risk of spreading to forested areas. 8 Bulqizë MZSH officers, 6 Forest Service forces, 4 municipal forces and 4 volunteer forces were engaged in the field yesterday. As a result, an area of about 19 ha has been burned. Today, 4 forces of the unit have been engaged in the operation to keep the situation under control and not let this hearth progress until it is completely extinguished.

In the place called “Lake of Flowers”, part of the Lura National Park, Lura administrative unit, Dibër municipality, work has continued to extinguish the fire that broke out in a forest area with pine trees and meadows. Yesterday, the fire was active with a large longitudinal extension, but developed only from the side of the village of Gurë Lura. 1 firefighting vehicle with 6 employees of the Dibër MZSH and 16 forces of the AdZM, 4 municipal forces, 10 volunteer forces and 30 forces from the Armed Forces were engaged to extinguish it. As a result, an area of about 30 ha has been burned. Today, work is continuing by the operational forces to extinguish the fire, assisted by 30 forces from the Armed Forces.

Tirana County. Work has continued to extinguish the fire that broke out in the village of Zambish, Lekaj administrative unit, Rrogozhina municipality, in an area with oak trees. The local Fire Department Service of the Rrogozhina municipality went to the scene with 1 fire truck with 17 employees, 1 FA helicopter, 20 municipal forces, 10 volunteer forces, who worked for it until late hours but were unable to completely extinguish it. During yesterday's day, the fire grew even larger, spreading to the villages of Hemenraj, Murroj, Çek, Memollaj and Berdajt. Also in the village of Hemenaj, houses located near the fire were endangered. As a result, an area of about 20 ha was burned. Last night, the situation was monitored by 10 firefighting personnel. Today, operational forces are continuing on the ground for the final extinguishing. The fire is under control.

Elbasan County. In the place called "Mal Plak", Polis Administrative Unit, Librazhd Municipality, a fire has broken out in a forest area. Today, the fire extinguishing operation is continuing with: 1 fire truck and 8 officers, forest inspectors and 10 volunteer forces. The cause of the fire is unknown.

In the village of Udenisht, Udenisht administrative unit, Pogradec municipality, there is a reactivation of the fire that broke out in an area of pine forest and bushes. The local Fire Department Service of the Pogradec municipality and AdZM forces went to the scene, and are working to extinguish it.

The fires were mainly recorded in areas with bushes and vegetation, where as a result about 91 hectares of land and 20 olive trees were burned.

38 firefighting vehicles and 459 forces were deployed in the firefighting operations. The Armed Forces also participated in yesterday's operations with 90 personnel and 3 helicopters.

Based on the forecasts of the Institute of Geosciences, no precipitation is expected throughout the territory today.

Regarding fires, a "HIGH" risk level is expected today in the regions of Durrës, Tirana, Fier and Vlorë, and a "MODELAR" risk level in all other regions. In some regions, a "HIGH" risk is expected only in localized areas, specifically: the region of Shkodër (South), Kukës (Southwest), and Korçë (North).

The entire civil protection system continues to monitor the situation and is fully prepared for rapid intervention.
