The Audiovisual Media Authority held a roundtable discussion today on working conditions and the creation of a decent and safe environment for audiovisual media employees.
This first roundtable was attended by industry representatives, journalists, and civil society.
Through a post on social media, AMA emphasizes that the purpose of this meeting was to strengthen cooperation between all parties, to improve working conditions and safety in the media sector.
According to AMA, the current events presented by the Inspectorate team, but also the issues addressed by the journalists present at the roundtable, were a good start to this cooperation that I believe will be reflected in the future with other steps, towards this common goal: to bring the standard of audiovisual media, the legality of its functionality, to a higher level, but also to a new level, in the context of European integration.
AMA emphasizes that respect for labor rights is an integral part of the rule of law and a condition for a free, independent and professional media./CNA
