Preliminary hearing for Meta in the Criminal Court of Kosovo is postponed /

The preliminary hearing at the Criminal Court for the leader of the PL, Ilir Meta, has been postponed to November 27, at 12:30. The reason is the absence of the lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani. The latter was in a court process in Lezha.

Meanwhile, a decision was expected today whether the case would go to trial or not. The last hearing, held on November 11, was postponed due to a request by Meta's lawyer for the disqualification of Judge Irena Gjoka.

The leader of the PL, Ilir Meta, has been in prison since October 2024, accused of "Passive corruption of high-ranking state officials or local elected officials" in 3 cases, two of which were committed in collaboration, "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" committed in collaboration, "Refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants, or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare". /CNA
