Albania and the EU approve the Security and Defense Partnership

Albania and the EU approved this Tuesday the Security and Defense Partnership.

The news was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a press release.

The Foreign Ministry states that this partnership reflects the determination of both parties to work together.

Also, the ministry underlines that the Albanian Armed Forces will receive 13 million euros from the EU.

"This new political framework creates a platform for enhanced dialogue and cooperation on security and defense issues, reflecting the determination of both sides to work together to address shared security challenges in an increasingly complex global environment .

Albania, as a negotiating country with the EU and a member state of NATO, has been and is a valued and trusted partner for the EU in the fields of security and defense, actively contributing to the missions and operations of the Common Security and Defense Policy. of the EU (CSDP).

The newly adopted Security and Defense Partnership builds on this strong foundation, paving the way for increased cooperation in key areas including crisis management, support to Ukraine, countering hybrid threats, cyber security, capacity building and training, counter terrorism and external aspects of integrated border management.
