Dissolution of the Courts of Appeal/ Lawyers warn: We will increase the fees

The dissolution of the Courts of Appeal will have costs for the citizens.

Not only cost in time but also financial.

The Court of Appeals in Shkodër, Vlorë, Durrës, Korçë and Gjirokastër districts will be locked from tomorrow.

All criminal and civil files are currently being transferred to the Appeal of Tirana, while in the districts only the offices for filing complaints will remain.

In a statement for Euronea Albania, the head of the Chamber of Advocates in Shkodër, Anton Kosteri, said that this decision will weigh on the pockets of the citizens as the lawyers will increase the fees for the costs of transportation and expenses that they need to go to Tirana.

"We are obliged to develop as the Supreme Judicial Council has ordered.

Starting from tomorrow, all processes will be tried in the Tirana Court of Appeal. No question that this is reflected in the tariffs. Today people have understood that all this struggle of ours had a meaning. Then unfortunately they did not understand, then only our voice was heard, the voice of the public very little. But from tomorrow they have to go to Tirana for their cases in Appeal.

We will normally increase the fees, being in sync with what we will spend to go to court. This will be reflected in the pocket of those who have to receive the services of the courts", said the lawyer./ CNA.al
