The head of the parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has announced that Sali Berisha's mandate as a deputy will not be removed.

According to the arguments of the Speaker of the Assembly, Berisha's mandate is not revoked as his absence in the Assembly is not without reason.

"Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly read the constitution correctly regarding the mandate of the head of the opposition, Sali Berisha. The legal structures of the assembly argued that Sali Berisha's mandate is not interrupted since his absence in the assembly is not without reason. This puts an end to the debate and speculation sponsored by the majority segments. We requested that Mr. Berisha, in accordance with the constitution, be given the opportunity to fully exercise the mandate of the deputy by participating in parliamentary sessions and other parliamentary activities", said Bardhi./ CNA
