The government approved today the decision to raise salaries for teachers and employees in the pre-university education system.

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, in the communication with the media after the government meeting, has considered this historic decision for the motivation and support of teachers and the increase in the quality of teaching.

"I want to share with you, but above all with the teachers in our education system, a really good news regarding the historic salary increase for teachers, which starts from July 1 and will involve 30 thousand employees in our education system , this being the biggest increase in wages in these decades. The average salary of teachers increases by 18,000 new lek/month or by three salaries per year, bringing the average salary of teachers to 950 euros", said the minister.

The salaries of teachers of higher secondary education with 15 years of experience is 98,500 ALL. The salaries of lower secondary education teachers with 15 years of experience is 96,600 ALL. The salary of 9-year-old primary education teachers with 15 years of experience is 95,000 ALL.

Psychosocial service workers (psychologists and social workers), security officers in these institutions, who play a very important role in the well-being and safety of children, also benefit from this new salary policy.

"The salary of a psychosocial service worker in schools with 15 years of experience is 91,000 ALL and the salary of a security officer is 80,000 ALL per month," said Minister Manstirliu.

This salary policy is comprehensive and also benefits educators in kindergartens and kindergartens as well as vocational education teachers.

The innovations in this salary scheme are: Increasing the amount of remuneration for teachers according to the category of qualification, doubling the payment per qualification for qualified teachers and specialist teachers and increasing it by 50% for master teachers.
