At the "Fan Noli" University of Korça, the registration process for new students has begun, which will continue until September 11.

Registrations are carried out online through the U-Albania portal and take place in 7 phases, each with a 48-hour deadline.

So far, about 50 students have registered in the four faculties offered by this university.

According to Artur Prifti, director of curriculum and institutional assessment, this year there is greater interest compared to last year, with around 215 additional applications.

" Starting from August 29 to September 11, the student registration process for the study programs offered by "Fan Noli" University has begun in all four of its faculties. So far, about 50 students have registered. I would like to emphasize that there is particular interest in programs in the field of technology such as Information Technology and Computer Engineering, which are highly sought-after programs by high school graduates. Also, traditional programs such as Finance-Accounting at the Faculty of Economics, as well as Nursing and Sports Science programs, continue to be of interest. The registration process will continue in 7 phases, each 48 hours long, and is carried out through the U-Albania portal, where high school graduates apply and register online. Compared to a year ago, this year we have about 215 more applications, which indicates greater interest. We expect the number of registered students to be higher than a year ago ," said Prifti.

In terms of study programs, the Economics branch at the Faculty of Economics is expected to be closed, as it has not attracted interest from students for years.

Meanwhile, an innovation comes from the Faculty of Agriculture, where the "Agriculture" program has been reorganized and is now offered as "Food Technology", better adapting to the demands of the labor market.

The majority of new students come from the Korça region and surrounding cities, but there is also no shortage of applications from other countries, mainly from Kosovo and North Macedonia, which have special quotas for enrollment.

" Most of the students who register are from the Korça region and surrounding cities. We have also had interest, although limited, from students from other lands, mainly from Kosovo and North Macedonia, who register with special quotas provided for these programs ," said Prifti.

The priest is optimistic that this year "Fan Noli" University will have more registered students compared to the previous year, thus reflecting the growing interest in the programs offered and in the Korça educational institution itself./ CNA
