Fatbardha Dega has confessed how she and her family members saved the life of former Prime Minister Fatos Nano in January 1992 and did not receive a thank you from him.

During an interview, Fatbardha said that despite putting their lives in danger, they were assassinated three times in the cell where they lost and the baby again they did not receive any support from Nano.

She says that the family lived together secretly until they secured the visas and not from Nano but from some other socialists.

 "We saved Fatos Nano from the assassination that was prepared against him by Mr. Berisha and his group. At that time, we had support from the majority of socialists. But to tell the truth, not from Fatos Nano.

My husband's family knew Berisha. Because Berisha was their doctor. But when Fatos Nano came to our house, my father-in-law told him: "You are a friend in my house. I won't give up. I will protect you with my blood.”

Fatos Nano did not pick up the phone once to say: "Thank you for saving my life!" But I went to Tirana to meet him.

He lied through the secretary and said: "Tell Fatbardha that I am not in the office." He knew what I had been through, I was in prison, three times they tried to assassinate me, once in Tropoja and twice in Tirana.
