"Deliberate demolition, we are on our own land"/ Clashes between residents and police in Theth

The demolition action in Theth this Tuesday afternoon is being accompanied by clashes between residents, state police and IMT.

Residents have stated that the houses are on ancestral land and they have lived there for centuries.

"We have been on our land for 300-400 centuries. We have never had a conflict with anyone," says a resident.

"We are not people against the law. Is there anyone from IMT or IKMT that we can talk to like people?" the residents say.

Dozens of officers, along with the director of the local police in Shkodra, IMT and IKMT, are continuing the demolition of unauthorized constructions.

Meanwhile, residents have announced that they will continue to block roads and stop demolitions in any form, as according to them this intervention is intentional in the middle of the tourist season, damaging not only the image of the area, but also their economy. /CNA
