Former Foreign Minister Edmond Panariti commented on the meeting between the Albanian and Kosovar governments, focusing on the signing of agreements between them.

Panariti said that it is not only the signing of agreements that is important, adding that the work has faltered in following them.

"The agreement requires technical procedures to follow every step of finalization. So the agreement requires a follow-up and that is the difference with the referendum. Therefore, governments should also have groups to monitor the implementation of the agreement, to see how it has progressed.

Nuk do doja që këto të kishin minimumin e një farsë, mendoj që janë marrëveshje që duhet të merren seriozisht. Ne kemi çaluar pasi nuk bëjmë ndjekje, ne i nënshkruajmë dhe grupet e punës janë të plogësht për t’u mbledhur për të ndjekur avancimin e projekteve dhe të raportohet. Përpara se të nënshkruhen marrëveshjet e radhës të jepet llogari se çfarë është arritur.”, tha ai.

Referring to the project for a common railway, Panariti said: I never understood why the road of the Nation did not end in Durrës. This has been my opinion. This would give it even more value. Now with this project which is a railway line I hope to define technical elements of who will be the best model of this railway line. I hope it is realized as soon as possible. The Port of Durres would take real weight to be an important contributor to the development of Albania and Kosovo./ ET-CNA.al
