"There is no need for terror"/ Shehaj: Food security in the country is

Economics expert Brisida Shehaj commented today on food security in the country, also linking it to the action that began this Monday to confiscate dairy and meat traded without invoices.

Invited to a show on 'Syri TV', Shehaj stated that while around 80-90% of the goods consumed in the country are imported, it makes no sense to impose terror on the amount of 10-20% of food produced in the country.

Shehaj said that for this control to be of value, there must also be control over products with palm oil, salmonella or aflatoxin.

"I am convinced that Rama no longer needs to terrorize. So, this idea that he is terrorizing the people... Which people? We are a people who submitted to him, gave him 82 grains of mandates. It is good that those here submitted, but those in the diaspora also submitted. And we have seen scandals with the diaspora votes. We have seen them today with Mr. Berisha with some signatures, which were not signatures. So, he does not need to terrorize anyone.

What I really suspect, before I talk technically about what I think, is that we need a psychologist and I actually requested one in court because a great deal of psychological damage was caused to that gentleman by my statements but the judge did not approve it. He needs a psychological evaluation because this person has some kind of hatred for us as a people or for the part that is in need.

If we talk about food security, we are talking about a people, a nation, a state, which has 80-90% of the food it consumes imported goods. So, what is produced or consumed in Albania by our farmers, covers or does not cover 10-20%, which means that our food security is not affected by the oregano of that lady who said 'May you be white, O Muçi'.

Meanwhile, in the past, the markets that were created were mostly man-made, and man-made, and they were treated like street vendors, because if they were going to keep the cash register and the fiscal system, they had to pay an economist.

"That said, if we are going to deal with food safety, we have to deal with the milk that comes to us with palm oil, the meat that comes to us from Brazil with salmonella, the milk with afatoxin, and many others like tangerines, tomatoes, peppers... all of these that are not controlled, because we do not have a laboratory," said Shehaj./CNA
