Recognition of social security/ The agreement with Italy is approved

The Council of Ministers approved this Wednesday the agreement between Albania and Italy on the recognition of social security.

The agreement between the two countries was signed on February 6 of this year by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani.

The agreement brings benefits to Albanian and Italian citizens, allowing the joining of contribution periods for stable pensions.

According to the data of the Albanian institutions, currently 300 thousand Albanians with regular residence in Italy contribute to their social security. It is estimated that over the years, the number of people who will benefit from this agreement will exceed 500 thousand./ CNA
