The Parliamentary Committee on Civic Initiatives is reviewing the draft resolution "On the evaluation of the activity of the High Judicial Council for the year 2025".

During the report, the head of the High Judicial Council, Ilir Rusi, spoke about the adjudication of court cases and their high number.

Rusi stated that the Supreme Court of Justice has addressed several times to the Parliament and the Ministry of Justice legal changes that, according to him, increase the speed of adjudicating cases and reduce their number.

He further added that, in one case, the Assembly included it on the agenda of the Laws Committee and then removed it from the committee's agenda.

"The Supreme Court has addressed several times to the Assembly and the Ministry of Justice legal amendments regarding the Criminal Procedure Code, the Civil Procedure Code, the Administrative Procedure Code. These have been measures to increase the speed of trial and to reduce the number of cases. But the honorable Assembly included them in the Laws Committee, we prepared the report and then they were removed from the agenda. These are measures that increase the number of cases tried", said Rusi. /CNA
