"Zvërneci"/ Balla: The project will be developed according to

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, present at the 21st meeting of the CPSA in Strasbourg, stated that the development project in Zvërnec will move forward in full compliance with legal and environmental standards.

Referring to discussions on this investment, Balla stressed that the area has special ecological importance and that any development will be subject to a full environmental impact assessment, public consultations and approvals from the responsible authorities.

"22.1% of Albania's territory is a protected area. The project is in the development phase, the final project has not been approved and cannot proceed without a full environmental impact assessment and the relevant approvals. Any development will be subject to the requirements of the law. The objective is to offer a tourism model that creates jobs, attracts economy and investment, while at the same time protecting the ecological values ??of the area. Nature conservation and development are not conflicting objectives, but complementary pillars of the same vision for a more prosperous and greener Albania," Balla said.

Balla also spoke about the role of the Albanian Parliament in the European integration process, emphasizing the importance of political consensus and democratic ownership of this process.

He announced that the latest resolution on the European integration process has been approved by all major political forces, describing this as evidence of Albania's institutional commitment on the path towards the European Union.

"No process can be achieved without democratic ownership. The Albanian Parliament is one of the main pillars that gives legitimacy, oversight and transparency to the European Union accession process," declared Balla. /CNA
