Meta seeks 134 witnesses/ Today's hearing in the GJKKO

The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime will hold the next session this Thursday in the criminal process against the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, who is being investigated for the criminal offenses of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets.

The focus of the hearing is expected to be the examination of the requests submitted by the defense. In the previous hearing, the lawyers requested a financial reassessment of Meta's income, including the period since the beginning of his political activity in 1992.

The defense has also presented the court with an expanded list of 134 people it wants to testify in the trial. Among them are political figures, former officials, former associates of Meta, as well as foreign citizens mentioned in the files related to the CEZ-DIA cases and lobbying contracts. On the other hand, the Special Prosecution Office has also filed its own list of over 100 witnesses.
