The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has spoken about the detention of the winner of the elections in Himara Municipality, Fredi Beleri, in prison.

Mitsotakis says he is concerned both about keeping Beler in prison and the fact that Albania refuses to give him the opportunity to take the oath.

"I am concerned not only by the fact of the prison, but also that Albania refuses to give him the opportunity to take the oath, even by the head of the prison... It is a clear violation of the rule of law, it creates major problems in our bilateral relations, makes Albania's path towards the European family difficult...", commented Mitsotakis during the press conference he gave in the context of his presence at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition./ CNA
