He took bribes/ The judicial police officer is arrested, investigations by SPAK

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, on the basis of materials referred by the General Prosecutor's Office, has registered criminal proceedings no. 187 dated 03.11.2022, for the criminal offense "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions" and " Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of justice bodies", provided by articles 245/1 and 319/ç of the Criminal Code.

From the investigative actions carried out for this criminal proceeding by BKH, reasonable suspicions based on evidence have been created that the citizens Ç.T and S.SH in the position of Judicial Police Officer at the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, as well as the citizen LH, have received in some cases from ZT and IT citizens, irregular monetary benefits, in monetary amounts as well as other material benefits, to perform actions related to their duty and function.

In the framework of the preliminary investigations of this criminal proceeding, at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, with decision no. 45, dated 22.05.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, is located:

- Determination of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation LH, suspected of the criminal offense "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions" provided by article 245 /1, paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code.

- Assigning the security measure "House arrest" provided by article 237 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation Ç.T, suspected of the criminal offense, "Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of the justice bodies ”, provided by article 319/ç of the Criminal Code.

- Determination of the security measure "Compulsion to appear before the judicial police" provided by article 234 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation, ZT, suspected of the criminal offense, "Active corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of judicial bodies", provided by article 319 of the Criminal Code.

- Determination of the security measure "Compulsion to appear before the judicial police" provided by article 234 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation, S.Sh, suspected of the criminal offense, "Exercising illegal influence on persons who exercise public functions" provided by article 245/1 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.

- Determination of the security measure "Compulsion to appear before the judicial police" provided by article 234 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under LT investigation, suspected of the criminal offense, "Exercising illegal influence on persons exercising public functions" provided by article 245/1 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

The judicial police services of the Tirana Police Directorate executed on 24.05.2023 the personal security measures imposed on the persons under investigation above.

The preliminary investigations for this criminal proceeding are ongoing and have not yet been completed.
