The former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, was arrested by the Tirana Police this morning, following the decision of the Special Court at the request of SPAK.
The photo shows the moment when Beqaj gets into the police car with handcuffs, as he is accompanied by police officers.
In total, the Special Court has imposed 5 security measures, 3 "prison arrests" and 2 "house arrests" for abuses of EU funds.
According to sources, the abuses were committed when Beqaj was heading SASPAC (State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination).
