The Greek Foreign Minister, Giorgos Gerapetritis, reacted on Wednesday regarding the population census process in our country, developed in the September-November period of 2023.

After the meeting he had in Athens with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Sulenberg, he questioned the results published a few days ago, while he did not leave without commenting on the Beleri case.

Gerapetritis said that "as far as Albania is concerned, we all know how the situation is".

"We expect Albania to do something right. To respect European law, which requires the opportunity for the youngest elected member of the European Parliament to take up his duties and participate fully. Naturally, in this context, I would like to express the reservations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the integrity of the census, which was carried out in Albania. The first results highlight serious issues with the registration process, which cast doubt on the results themselves. Members of the Greek ethnic minority have already testified and referred to them. There are problems with the way this registration was made. It is clearly a prerequisite that the European exchange rate of each country respects the accuracy of the data. And we ask all countries to strictly respect these rules", he declared./ CNA
