Prime Minister Edi Rama has expressed his opposition to some proposals on the place where Ismail Kadare will be laid to rest, while also showing the wishes of his wife or the writer himself.

In his speech during the ceremony at the Theater of Opera and Ballet, he said that Ismail Kadareja deserves to rest in a final home that is only his, not with the martyrs. 

Rama announced that his burial in Tufina will take place only with the presence of family members, this is their wish. 

"The temporary placement of his body in Tufina will be done only with the presence of family members. The tributes will end at the moment when the procession leaves for the cemetery.
