Kosovo honors Kadarena/Kurti, homage to the colossus of Albanian literature

A delegation from Kosovo arrived this morning at the Opera and Ballet Theater to participate in the tributes that are being held for the death of the famous writer, Ismail Kadare. 

Present are the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the President Vjosa Osmani, the Speaker of the Assembly Glauk Konjufca and the Minister of the Interior, Xhelal Zveçla. 

The colossus of Albanian literature passed away in the early hours of Monday in his apartment in Tirana from natural causes.

Kadare is considered one of the giants of Albanian literature. Author of dozens of novels, poems and essays, he is probably among the most well-known Albanians in the world, with his works translated into over 40 different languages ??and published around the world.

Kadare has been a candidate for the "Nobel" prize for literature several times in a row, while there are many prestigious international awards for his work, such as "International Booker Man Prize", "Prince of Asturias Award", "Jerusalem Prize", " Neustadt International Prize", "Nonino", "Park Kyong-ni"./ CNA
