The news is confirmed today by the German Embassy in Tirana, which conveys praise for the diplomat.

It was a serious illness that took the life of the former ambassador at a young age.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our late colleague Peter Zingraf. Peter Zingraf, the German Ambassador in Tirana from 2019 to 2023, passed away on May 20, 2024 after a short but serious illness.

His sudden loss has shocked us all. "Peter Zingraf will be remembered as a friendly, humorous and always approachable person and as a great colleague and friend," the announcement states.

Zingraf served as Germany's ambassador to Albania from August 1, 2019 until 2023./ CNA
