New details have emerged from surprise searches at Durres prison. According to information, police officers found five iPhones hidden in the shower doors on the third floor of Building “A”.
It is suspected that these phones belonged to the three convicts. It is reported that the checks are still ongoing to discover other illegal items.
"In the early hours of this morning, the operational forces of the General Directorate of Prisons conducted a surprise check at the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions (IEVP) in Durrës.
During the search, five iPhone mobile phones were found, which are prohibited items on the institution's premises. The items were found hidden in the shower doors (shared area), in Building "A", third floor, Sector 1.
It is suspected that these phones belonged to convicts with the initials FK, AP and VI. In relation to the case, investigative work is continuing to fully identify the responsible persons and the manner in which the prohibited items were brought into the institution," the announcement states. /CNA
