The former leader of the Democratic Party in Saranda, Manjola Nikollo, has been appointed as deputy mayor of this city.

Manjola Nikollo, in a reaction to the media, expressed that she is disappointed with the way the Democratic Party functions today.

"I feel disappointed and sad today by the way the party functions, but I feel obligated to address the Democrats who have supported me over the years. What I am today, I am thanks to them," said Nikollo.

She has indicated that the disagreements with the Democratic Party began during the primaries process in the Vlora district, where after resigning from the position of branch chairwoman, Nikollo declares that the result was influenced by external factors.

"After this process, I was excluded from internal communications of the branch and was not notified of meetings or activities. This made me feel morally insulted," she stated.

Further, Nikollo emphasizes that the decision to join the local administration is a human and not a political movement.

"My decision to become part of the Municipality of Saranda is a human, not a political movement. I want to make my contribution in the service of the public interest," Nikollo declared./ CNA
