Skateboard ban/ New rules expected to be drafted

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu, gathered in a roundtable discussion all the main institutions that play a key role in road safety regarding the removal of skateboards.

Minister Koçiu wrote on social media that the suspension of skateboard movement was a necessary measure to guarantee the safety of citizens.

Further, Koçiu says that the focus of today's meeting was the drafting of new rules for technical standards as well as the responsibilities of law enforcement institutions.

 

" The suspension of movement with electric skateboards came as a necessary measure to guarantee the safety of citizens, until a clear legal framework is created that regulates their use.

At the discussion table with the main institutions that play a key role in road safety, we focused on drafting new rules that will define:

technical standards of vehicles, traffic rules and permitted areas, as well as the responsibilities of the institutions that will ensure the implementation of the law.

"The goal is to regulate the movement of electric skateboards in a safe, organized manner and in line with the city's modern urban life ," writes Koçiu./CNA
